The Specktator is thrilled to have European Street Cafe as title sponsor of the online calendar!
As one of my favorite places to eat, drink and socialize in the the city, “E. Street” (as the cool kids call it) makes the perfect partner to help promote the best events happening in the city.
NOTE: This is a “curated calendar,” meaning I have personally reviewed each event and consider it to be of interest to the general public and/or something particularly compelling. It is important to know that businesses cannot buy a calendar entry. That said, if you have an event you would like considered for the calendar, send the pertinent information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
And by the way, be sure to change the view from “month” to “stream” below. Unless you like being really annoyed.
A free, sustainable festival devoted to environmental awareness, animal advocacy, and of course, plant-based cuisine. Psychic readings also available.
This festival is not affiliated with the Northeast Florida Veg Fest, which is usually held yearly but was cancelled this year. We’re here to fill in the gap so no one misses out on a day we ourselves love so much.
Join Katie Jeffries of First Coast News at Topgolf Jacksonville as she joins us to play at the area’s premier golf entertainment complex. (Don’t worry about missing the Jags playing in Cleveland because we will have the game on the TVs while you are playing.)
Anyone can play Topgolf, from aspiring pros to those who’ve never walked 18 holes. This multi-level driving range is equipped with drivers, microchipped balls and targets to hit.
Registration is $100 for each person and includes three hours of golf, heavy hors d’ouevres and bottomless soda, iced tea and water. A cash bar will be available. There will also be a chance to win prizes at our raffle and silent auction! All proceeds benefit Canine Companions for Independence DogFest Walk’n Roll Jacksonville.

From Wild Oak:
Join us for Winos for Rhinos! Because who doesn’t love rhinos? And wine.
The event includes a tour of our new and expanding rhino facilities where you will meet our rhinos and their caretakers to learn about the conservation breeding programs here at White Oak.
During your stops at the different areas, we will provide a refreshing beverage that our wine stewards will describe to you while you enjoy hors d’oeuvres from White Oak’s culinary staff. We will finish the tour at Gilman Hall where you will enjoy a gourmet dinner and have the opportunity to recount the evening with your new friends!
From Ronald Mc Donald House Charities
We’re excited to bring the Children’s Way 5k & Family Day back to the House & the entire community. The event will be held during the afternoon, and will feature a Christmas Village in our parking lot, as well as an opportunity to tour our House. The funds raised from this fun, family event will help provide temporary lodging for over 1,200 families of critically ill, chronically ill and seriously injured children receiving medical treatment in Jacksonville.
From Community Hospice:
The 27th Annual Tree of Life and Candlelight Service of Remembrance honors the memory of the loved ones we have lost in a beautiful, inspiring program of music, verse and reflection. It also illuminates our Mandarin campus, with each light representing one of the patients Community Hospice & Palliative Care has served since 1979.
The theme will be WINTER WONDERLAND. Tons of snow will be back along with some special surprises.
The Jacksonville Jaguars mascot, Jaxson De Ville, will join us. DJ Eric Leffler will be playing holiday (and some non-holiday) tunes and we will have another very special live performance and a few more surprises this year. There will be plenty of amazing food, drink and merriment. Kid friendly!
Please donate toys! This year, we are keeping it local. We have partnerned with Jacksonville foster and adoption families, local churches and people in need. You can drop unwrapped toys off ANYTIME prior to the event. If you can’t make it by, give us a call and we will arrange to pick up donations.

Tying the event in with St. Patrick’s Day will add another level of fun, Dooley says. Irish musician/songwriter (and Jacksonville transplant) Brendan Doherty, will perform traditional Irish songs as well as original songs from his last album, “Feels Like Home,” which Irish Music Magazine’s Seán Laffey said, “If you need a label to describe his style, think John Denver at his very best.” Doherty will be accompanied on fiddle by Philip Pan, former concertmaster for the Jacksonville Symphony and member of Canary in a Coalmine. Pan currently performs with folk/rock band Folk is People and Mariachi Primera Costa.
The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, festive food, music, dancing and a silent auction featuring a variety of original artwork, fine wines, gift baskets, a putter autographed by Arnold Palmer and a catered yacht cruise on Innisfail, an impeccably restored 1930 Mathis-Trumpy motor yacht that hosted several U.S. presidents.
