As one of my favorite places to eat, drink and socialize in the the city, “E. Street” (as the cool kids call it) makes the perfect partner to help promote the best events happening in the city.

 

NOTE: This is a “curated calendar,” meaning I have personally reviewed each event and consider it to be of interest to the general public and/or something particularly compelling. It is important to know that businesses cannot buy a calendar entry. That said, if you have an event you would like considered for the calendar or a $pon$ored feature, send the pertinent information to whatsup@thespecktator.com.

MOCA’s Art Adventures program continues with a class called “Cityscape Collage.” The class is open to children 6 through 12, and class size is limited.

FUN FACT: “Collage” comes the French word “collage” which means “gluing.”

How do you get to the main stage at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival? Practice, practice, practice! Further your jazz education and refine your chops at this free masters class clinic featuring some of the very same greats you’ll find on stage at this year’s festival. Aspiring and accomplished jazz musicians of all ages are invited to learn and grow their skills in an intimate setting at none other than Jacksonville’s historic Ritz Theatre and Museum. Space is limited for this unique and personal experience so register today!

Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own instruments. Parents with children attending the clinic are welcome to enjoy the museum’s amenities while they wait.

FUN FACT: “Jazz” or “jass” derives from a Creole word that means both African dance and copulation.

 Theatre Jacksonville’s Spring Break Camps offer great fun for students on their annual Spring Break holiday from school. During each of our 1-week sessions our campers will get a chance to explore, be challenged, create, and express themselves in a fun and safe learning environment.

AGES: Grades 2-12
TIMES: Monday – Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm
COST: $300 per student, per week.
