From Facebook.com

For the 11th year, PHINS (Parrot Heads in Natural Settings) is hosting a gumbo competition.

If you haven’t been yet this is the time to come and have phun in the sun while tasting multiple gumbo recipes, drinking your favorite concoctions while enjoying your phriends and making new ones! Another fun part is you can buy as many “votes” as you want to help your favorite team win People’s Choice!

Bring non-perishable food items for the food drive and be entered in a special prize drawing.

FUN FACT: The Cajun “holy trinity” of vegetables, found in most types of gumbo, are celery, bell peppers and onions.
