According to organizers, 50,000 attended Jaxtoberfest in 2014—when it was held at The Shipyards. This year, the two-day event is “moving closer to the center of the city”: St. Johns Town Center. (I’ll be curious to see how that works out.)
Like the other local Oktoberfest celebrations, Jaxtoberfest offers beer, live music, stein holding contests and German food. Unlike the others, this one also features local food trucks, wine and liquor and a brat eating contest.
FUN FACT: First instroduced in 1935, Jägermeister is German digestif made with 56 herbs and spices.
PERSONAL FUN FACT: The first and only time I ever drank of shot of Jäger I wrapped up the night vomiting out my nose. Nie wieder as they say in the motherland.
