POINTLESS POLL: What’s on your phone’s home screen?

The Specktator Institute for Unscientific Research conducted a poll via Facebook with more than 100 respondents sharing photos of what appears on their phone’s home/lock screen. My assistant Siri and I crunched the numbers and found out some surprising and not so surprising results.

Not surprising is the percentage of people with photos of their loved ones or their pets.

What was surprising, at least to me (Siri can speak for herself—literally), is the variety of random subjects including guitar amps, Taco Lu, a JSO work schedule and some creature (a zombie?) hiding in a sea of balloons.

Other points of interest:

  • President Barack Obama was the most popular subject in the “another person” category with four appearances.
  • Other celebrities included Pope Francis, Nikki Sixx of Motley Crüe, Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey and the late painter Bob Ross (actually, a figurine of him but close enough).
  • Three people’s phones featured a Tardis.
  • The “places” category spanned the world with pics from the Canadian Rockies to Bora Bora to Hemming Park.
  • One of the quotes that appeared was from Kanye West.
  • Mayor Lenny Curry’s home screen is an action photo of his son playing football.
